Administration

 

Elizabeth Sanford MOT, OTR/L, CPAM
President of Wonderkind

• Received her Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy at Loma Linda University

• Received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development and Psychology at Whittier College

• Additional training in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) for patients with neurological pathophysiology

• Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention certified for patients with oral motor difficulties

• Physical Agent Modalities certified to provide superficial and deep thermal agents, and electrotherapeutic agents to patients with neurological and orthopedic conditions

• Sequential Oral Sensory Approach certified for feeding with specialized instruction from the founder, Kay Toomey

• Sensory Integration Certification through USC with specialization in feeding and Autism Spectrum Disorder

• Practiced in a variety of settings including inpatient hospital, outpatient, home-based, and clinic-based with children and adults with mild to severe disabilities

• When not treating patients, Liz conducts presentations to other professionals advocating for the OT profession, and providing education on topics related to deficit identification, sensory processing, and improving family/patient outcomes using communication

Liz enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband, two sons, and daughter. When not hanging out at the clinic, Liz and her family enjoy being outside, riding bikes, and gardening!

Vince Hoffman PT, DPT, C/NDT
Director, Physical Therapist

• Received his Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Southern California

• Received his Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Sciences with a minor in Psychology at Linfield College (now Linfield University)

• Certified in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) for pediatric patients with neurological pathophysiology

• Over 20 years of experience treating children in clinic, home and school settings

Vince enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and their German Shepherd! When not at work, Vince enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and biking, or at home rooting for the Dodgers and the Linfield University football team (Go Wildcats!)

Marissa Ayala MOT, OTR/L

Marissa enjoys exploring national parks, adventuring to the beach with her family, and reading. She loves a good cozy day inside just as much as she loves being outdoors. Her days typically revolve around spending quality time with her husband, son, and 3 dogs!

• Received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communicative Disorders from University of Redlands

• Professional interests include preschool and school-aged phonological and social language remediation

Katie enjoys yearly trips to visit family in the Netherlands, skiing trips with her family, hiking in the local mountains, cycling and reading. She spends a great deal of her time exploring the outdoors and loves to bake!

Hillary Rivas MS, CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist

• Received her Master’s in 2014 from California State University, Northridge in California, CA. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and is licensed by the state of California in Speech-Language Pathology

• Hillary has numerous years of experience in a variety of pediatric settings including: preschools, elementary schools, and private practice. She has been a collaborative member of a multidisciplinary assessment team, as well as planned and implemented a multidisciplinary “Parent and Me” speech-language development program

• Hillary has completed the SCERTS training. She believes that social communication and emotional regulation go hand-in-hand, and she is passionate about empowering families by giving them the knowledge and tools to facilitate and encourage their child’s communication abilities

When Hillary is not working, she spends her time playing with her three children, reading, going to concerts, hiking, and traveling

Leah Fullman ScD, CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist

• Earned her Master of Science in Communication Disorders at Southern Illinois University in 2011. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and is licensed by the state of California and Alabama in Speech-Language Pathology

• Leah completed her Doctoral degree in 2018 with her research focused on pediatric dysphagia

• Additionally, she received her MBA from Faulkner University in 2022

• Leah has numerous years of experience in a variety of pediatric settings including children’s hospital, private practices, and school systems

• Leah is a tenured professor who teaches Master's and Doctoral courses in speech-language pathology and the broader health sciences. She also supervises doctoral students working on their dissertations

In her free time, Leah enjoys hiking, dancing, and traveling with her husband and three sons

Catherine Miranda MS, CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist

• Received her Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Loma Linda University

• Received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Biola University

• Over eight years as a speech and language pathologist and over ten years in the field

• Has worked and supervised in many different settings including adult and pediatric home health, hospital, private practice, and educational settings

• Is a PROMPT trained clinician, AAC/AT trained, as well as advanced training in natural language acquisition

Outside of work, Catherine enjoys trying new recipes, traveling, and spending time with her husband and young son

Heather Smith CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist

• Received her Bachelor’s in 2011 and Master’s in 2013 from California State University, Northridge in California. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and is licensed by the state of California in Speech-Language Pathology

• Heather has 10 years of experience in a variety of settings including early intervention, preschool, elementary schools and hospitals

• She has worked collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and built relationships with families to ensure progress towards communication goals

In her free time, Heather spends time homeschooling her two children, listening to podcasts, raising chickens, and

• Previously trained for ABA therapist as part of a multidisciplinary team in a private school setting

• Received her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology in May 2024 from Biola University

• Professional interests include play-based early intervention, preschool/school-aged language and articulation intervention, and would love to explore the intervention of augmentative alternative communication (AAC)

Shannon loves spending time with her family and friends. When not at work, Shannon enjoys the beach, hiking, baseball (Go Dodgers!), reading and cooking

• Received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders from Cal State Los Angeles

• Professional interests include preschool and school-aged phonological and language intervention

• Christopher loves to spend time with his wife and daughter at home. He enjoys cooking and serving his church on Sundays and their weekly events. He has seven nieces and nephews that keep him on his toes

• Received her Associates of Arts degree in Social and Behavior Sciences from Chaffey Community College

• Received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from California State University, Fullerton

• Professional interests include play-based early intervention, school-aged children, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

During her free time, Cristen loves spending time with family and friends, working out and staying active, exploring new cities/traveling, and trying new hobbies and restaurants

Karlie Fernandez SLPA

• Received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from California State University, Fullerton

• Professional interests encompass early intervention, school-aged children, and utilizing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). She is passionate about AAC, which provides essential tools and strategies to assist individuals with severe expressive speech or language problems, empowering them to communicate effectively and enhance their quality of life

Karlie loves working out, boxing, baking, spending time with family and friends, and playing with her dog, Suki

Francine Cazeau SLPA

• Received her Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Communication Disorders from Utah State University

• Professional interests include early intervention, ASL and educating families with practical tips to improve communication with their child

Francine enjoys listening to the ocean waves at the beach, fine dining, reading at Barnes and Noble, dancing and hanging with loved ones

Karolyn Gray SLPA

• Received her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Language Pathology from California State University San Marcos

• Her professional interests include total communication, early intervention, and school-aged language intervention. She is passionate about offering neurodiversity-affirming, play-based, and child-led therapy

In her free time, Karolyn enjoys exploring new coffee shops, going to Disneyland, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and her dog, Poppy

Mahnoor "Noor" Shaw SLPA
Speech-Language Pathology Asst.

• Graduated from both Santa Ana Community College and Santiago Community College in 2019 earning five Associates Degrees with one of the many being a degree in Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant

• Professional interest: fluency disorders, early intervention, and American Sign Language 

Outside of conducting speech therapy, Noor is found baking customized desserts for the communities around her, making wedding cakes, coordinating weddings and creating highlight reels as an event content creator. She adores plants and gardens of all kinds and loves spending time with her husband, family, pet cats and friends
